2009 Acura MDX

We give the new MDX by Acura a 5/5 rating (what's this?)

The new 2009 Acura MDX offers a 260-horsepower, 3.5-liter, V-6, SOHC engine under the hood with an electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission. The drive was smooth and this SUV handles nicely on the road partly because of a Variable Torque Management 4-Wheel-Drive system which will put the power to the wheels at times where it's need the most.

The improved 2009 Acura MDX offers a beefed-up 260-horsepower, 3.5-liter, V-6 engine that, in and of itself, is a force to be reckoned with. This engine produces a class-leading 260 horsepower at high rpm while churning out impressive torque that comes peaks at 250 lbs, so drivers can accelerate quickly to highway speeds with exhilarating responsiveness. The engine of the Acura MDX also boasts class-leading fuel efficiency, thanks to Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control, efficient swirl-chamber combustion, Programmed Fuel Injection, and a drive-by-wire throttle control. A new close-coupled catalyzer mounted closer to the engine also helps reduce emissions, making the durable 2009 Acura MDX one of the best SUVs for the environment it is designed to conquer.

One of its other missions is to Defeat Winter and this 2009 Acura MDX review reinforces the message. That entailed designing one of the most advanced 4-wheel drive systems on the market to give MDX exceptional traction on wet or snowy pavement. And realizing that some SUV customers enjoy outdoor activities like camping, mountain biking, rock climbing and kayaking, the MDX is designed to perform exceptionally well in medium duty off-road applications. You don't need to be 2009 Acura MDX experts to see that this SUV is a winner.

Our 2009 Acura MDX review includes some additional MDX specs: the car also boasts an advanced electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission, and Acura's patented Variable Torque Management 4-Wheel-Drive system that reroutes torque to the wheels where it will do the most good.
